John Ashbrook and I take a look at what we expect to happen and what might happen. Let’s see how close we came. As stories go, the Dem staffers—who are getting all the blame these days—are not used to having to defend their candidates for more than a news cycle. So this two week ringing of hands over the tanking of Pres. Joe Biden in the first and maybe last debate is new for them. Those of us on the conservative side have to defend our candidates every day and we are used to it.

Then we talked to the National Taxpayers Union Foundation head, Demian Brady, about tax and fiscal policy. That never changes and do we really believe we will get back on track? This week, RFK Jr showed his true colors by pulling out the “if we spent less on defense, we could solve all our fiscal problems” argument. He’s wrong as every Democrat (even though he says he’s not one) is. In his uncle’s day, we spent 27% of our GDP on defense, now we spend less than 4%. What’s changed—mandatory spending on entitlements. If you won’t put that on the table, you are not serious—so no one in this race is serious.
