Views From Three Perspectives

Hostage Activist Joey Summer, WWII Veteran Alan Kinder and Author Johann Hari

This week as you go into your holiday weekend, we have three distict views on issues. Joey Summer is a cultural Jewish man in Gainesville, Georgia. After October 7, he felt a obligation to keep the light on the plight of the hostages taken in the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. On his own property, he put up a solidarity space dedicated to the hostages and support of the US and Israel. It’s been vandalized with small events, but last week—it was a full out attack on the space. He tells us about it.

Then, WWII Veteran Alan Kinder tells us his story. He was an 18 year old who had never been out of his home state of Washington in 1944. He joined the Army and then headed out on a troop train across the country and then across the ocean to join his new comrades in arms in France for the D-Day invation and it’s aftermath. He’s 99 years old and hearing him tell this story of patriotism, love, loss and service is worth the time.

Finally, what is all this talk around Ozempic. Johann Hari is the author of “The Magic Pill,” and he spent the last year doing the research of the good and the bad related to GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic. I share my own journey, too.
