Funding, Courses and Debate in Georgia Education

Scott Sweeney and I discuss Education, AP AA Claseses and More

You might have heard about the controversy in the Georgia public schools when the State School Superintendent punted on a decision to continue a pilot program with a course included that was an AP African American History class. Communication was poor, timing was poor. Scott Sweeney and I serve on the State Board of Education for Georgia. We were not consulted on this decision, but we have opinions.

Then, questions about roles and funding in public schools. I know a lot of my readers call them “government schools,” thanks for my old friend, Neal Boortz. However, I am a big supporter of public schools. I think it’s education and economics that separates us, so schools are important. I also support school choice. Competition is good for markets and good for schools.

Let me know what you think.
